Cellulose is a polysaccharide of chemical formula (C6H10O5)no. It may have a molecular mass equivalent to 400,000u.

It is present in almost all plants, being one of the main constituents of plant cell walls.

It is formed by the condensation of a large number of glucose molecules.

Cellulose can be obtained from eucalyptus and pine wood, in addition to cotton. It is used for papermaking.
